Many of you know that our three kids are well on their way to becoming adults. In fact, our daughter is already a young adult and has a home of her own and the boys aren’t far behind. I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 21 years and, as I near the end of that era, I’m often told I am certain to have a hard case of Empty Nest Syndrome. Well, I tend to disagree with that assumption. I think I’ll be just fine as I know my kids will visit, text, and call frequently to allow me to keep up with their lives.

Nevertheless, to keep everyone happy for me, Ric and I have decided to adopt. We were in Barnes and Noble this past weekend and came across several sock monkeys just waiting for someone to take them home and care for them. I’ve always had a love for a sock monkey and this was no exception. We paid the fee and brought the little guy home. He even has official papers! We named him Trager in honor of one of our all-time favorite movies.
