Double-Trouble Schnauzers | Bowling Green KY Pet Photography

I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t had time to update everyone on Josie B. and Max, our double-trouble schnauzer siblings. Maximus had a checkup at the veterinarian’s this morning, so I thought it would be a good time to tell everyone the latest schnauzer news. (By the way, I highly recommend Greystone Pet Hospital for all of your animal care needs.)

Josie B. is now known as the little, big sister. Having always been on the small side, she now weighs in at twelve pounds and that should be the normal for her. She’s a mother hen when it comes to Max, worrying and fretting over him almost constantly. That is, until she has had enough. Then she wants nothing to do with him, and likes to get on our bed because it’s tall and Max can’t jump up there just yet. She and Max have lots of fun playing and roughhousing, sometimes to the point of us having to make them stop just so the house will be quiet. Josie will still run for the hills if she can ever squeeze out the door without someone catching her. We have to keep a close eye on her any time a door is opened. She has a very sweet disposition. Even though she acts like she doesn’t want us to pick her up, she’ll snuggle up close if we do get our hands on her. Josie’s main fault is that she’s a barker. A shrill bark can be heard from her off and on all day, every day. If we can get that under control, we’ll be a-okay. In the meantime, we accept her just as she is and love on her every chance we get.

Maximus is our hunka chunka. He weighs in at fourteen pounds and still has a bit of growing to do. He would eat all day and all night if we would let him. He’s always starving. (wink, wink) Max is a big baby and loves to be held and loved on whenever anyone is nearby to take on the task. He’s very playful and has finally gotten big enough to push back at Josie when she gets too rough with him. Yes, Josie can get rough even though she’s small. Max trucked her one day last week and I think it shocked her just a bit. If Josie’s fault is the bark, Max’s would be his sleep habits that are wearing us thin. He is known to fidget all through the night on occasion, but that is the least of the concerns. The biggest concern? His internal alarm clock goes off at 4 o’clock every morning. A trip outside is always in order at that time, then he has to be dragged away from his food bowl and forced to go back to bed until the next wake up at 5:30 when he can have his breakfast. Our vet says he will grow out of that, but we are skeptical. Send us some positive vibes if you have a moment to do so.

That’s about it for catching up, so I’ll leave you with a photo collage of the pups. Given the descriptions above, I’ll let you decide which ones are Max and which ones are Josie B.
