My husband has recently taken up learning photography. He started with a basic point and shoot, then moved to a point and shoot that allowed him to photograph in (M)anual mode. There were frustrations, however, because he couldn’t pick focal points and do a few other things I suggested would help improve his images. A friend came to the rescue and let Ric borrow a 30D. Now, the bug has hit him hard. He talks photography with me all the time. And I love it! We go out a lot on the weekends and just walk around wherever the mood strikes us to see what goodies we can find to photograph. Sometimes, I even manage to sneak in a snap of Ric in action.

May 7th, 2013April Party at Circus Square | Event Photographer Bowling Green KY
April 19th, 2013The April pARTy installment took place at Circus Square Park this past Tuesday evening. The weather was great and the sunlight was perfect for photography. I happened to have a new lens that I wanted to test and this was a great setting to do just that.
Be on the lookout for the next pARTy to be announced soon. Come join us for an evening of art and have fun making some new friends.
Women in the Arts | Fine Art Photographer Bowling Green KY
April 12th, 2013I recently had the honor of receiving a Merit Award for “It’s My Cup of Tea” at the Medical Center’s Women in the Arts Exhibit here in Bowling Green. This is a wonderful exhibit held each spring for women artists. There are always some beautiful pieces on display during the event. I highly recommend going by for a peek.
Art Party | Event Photographer Bowling Green KY
April 8th, 2013I’ve recently been invited to a couple of get-togethers involving local artists of many genres. I look forward to these nights when they are announced. The one I attended in March was at a local tattoo parlor that was in the process of relocating to this awesome space. (Visit Age of Reason when you get a chance to do so.) Because they were not yet moved in, there was plenty of room for the pARTy to be held in the shop. There was a great turnout for the evening and I tried my hand at something different for me. I’m not sure I’d call this event photography, or even lifestyle photography, but I enjoyed it just the same.
I’m looking forward to the next pARTy coming up April 16. It’s going to be held at Circus Square Park here in downtown Bowling Green and it’s open to the public. Stop by and meet some really cool artists. Bring your supplies and join the fun. Who knows? I might even bring my crayons and paper this time.

Birthday Siblings | Child Photographer Bowling Green KY
February 27th, 2013I know this pair is the cutest brother and sister you’ve seen! They are so sweet and I just loved being able to capture these images for their mom as the family is celebrating their birthdays this month. Miss {A} was especially funny when there was a cat around for her to talk to. And Mr {A}, well he was busy trying to decide what the purple flowers were that he was standing in while I was taking his picture. I’m so glad their mom decided to join in for a few of the photographs. Isn’t she just beautiful?
We’re working on another photo project for Miss {A’s} Gotcha Day in March and I cannot wait to share those with you as well.
Fine Art Friday – Worn and Weary | Bowling Green KY Photographer
February 22nd, 2013It’s time for the February installment of Fine Art Friday. I just happened to have an image printed this week for an upcoming exhibit and thought it would fit the bill for today as well. These are my husband’s work boots and I just love all the textures from the boots, the picnic table, and the surroundings.
Head on over to visit Laura Meeks, Albuquerque, NM Area Photographer and see what she has in store for you today.
Russell and Rachel | Engagement Photographer Bowling Green KY
February 14th, 2013Russell came into our family a few years ago when he and our son met and, almost instantly, became best friends. We love Russell as one of our own and look forward to all the future holds for him. When Russ told us a couple of months ago that he was engaged to Rachel, we were so happy for him. To then have this sweet couple ask if I would photograph their wedding was such an honor. I cannot wait to share their special day with them and then share it with you all.
In the meantime, we’ll celebrate Valentine’s Day with a couple of photos of Russell and Rachel from their engagement session. Aren’t they a beautiful couple?
Fine Art Friday – Branching Out | Bowling Green KY Photographer
January 25th, 2013As a member of 4 The Love of Focus, I was thrilled to join their Fine Art Friday group. This is my first time to participate in this type of share as I tend to keep to myself more than I join in groups. How fitting, then, that my first image for FAF is also something a bit different from my normal style of photography. I’m not generally a landscape photographer, nor do I convert many images to black and white. So, I’ve aptly named this image Branching Out. It’s from a creek that is not far from my home and was taken this past fall. I’ve always wanted a photo of the roots, but never really knew what to do until my husband I and went for a walk one morning and I noticed the reflection of them in the creek. I just knew this was what I wanted. I hope you like it as well.
Next up on the stop is Kay Pickens | Fine Art Photography. Be sure to leave a comment on each post as you make the rounds to view the wonderful art from the ladies. They’d love to know you stopped by for a peek.
Puppy Love | Pet Photographer Bowling Green KY
January 7th, 2013Back in August of 2012, American Idol came to Bowling Green, KY for a day of tryouts for the current season. A friend asked if I would like to go downtown and photograph some of the action. I did go, but didn’t take many photos of the singers and musicians. I was, instead, smitten with the furry friends who were hanging out with their families listening to the auditions. Here is a favorite from that day. I recently pulled it out to share with the Sunny Sixteen Photography Club for the Street Photography Challenge and decided I should share it here as well.
