May 10th, 2012Nature is Art (Copper) | Art Photographer Bowling Green KY
May 8th, 2012Are you looking for an awesome local gift for someone? Or maybe you’re looking for a fun little gift for yourself? Then check out Christy Long – Nature is Art. Christy and her husband are both artists who offer handmade gifts that you will love. I recently purchased this dragonfly and butterfly and I just love them! I’ve also seen a ladybug in the mix that I’m quite fond of and just might have to purchase as well. Most recently, Christy has added a wine bottle/glass holder in copper. What a great gift for Mother’s Day or Father’s Day which are just around the corner.
While you’re checking out the copper, don’t forget to take in the cool little key fobs Christy custom sews. I have one of these as well and I can tell you that you will love them.

Gerbera Daisies | Nature Photographer Bowling Green KY
April 28th, 2012We’re still enjoying the spring here in Bowling Green. Flowers are abundant wherever you go. I happened to find these sweet Gerberas when I was grocery shopping earlier this week. Personally, I think pink rules! Add a touch of yellow and Bam! beautiful daisies abound. Enjoy!

PTK Exhibit | Fine Art Photographer Bowling Green, KY
April 17th, 2012I’m pleased to be a member of the local arts community here in Bowling Green and to have the opportunity to participate in all the wonderful local exhibits. Next up is an exhibit for the Public Theatre of Kentucky in the Phoenix Theater. It’s in conjunction with the performance of the play “Becky’s New Car.” I wanted to use images that tied into the theme of the play. (Which, by the way, has nothing to do with an actual new car!) This was a challenge for me, but one I was ready to take on.

Exhibit Pieces | Fine Art Photographer Bowling Green KY
April 9th, 2012There is an upcoming exhibit April 13-15 at The Medical Center here in Bowling Green. It’s the annual Women-in-the-Arts exhibit celebrating female artists in Kentucky. This is my first year to participate and I wanted to share my exhibit pieces with you here. Be sure to also stop by The Medical Center this weekend to view all the wonderful art on display. I know several artists who are participating and I know you will love their work.

Pink Fairies

Dandelion Seed | Nature Photographer Bowling Green KY
March 30th, 2012My friend Chris C. is the queen of dandelion and landscape images. I give it my best shot once in awhile just to say I tried. I took my son outside with me yesterday to block the sunlight and, by pure luck, got this shot. Here in Bowling Green, the dandelions are abundant right now, so I’m sure we’ll all be out trying for more images of them in the days to come. In the meantime, I’ll share this one with you.

Sprinkles and Fairies | Nature Photographer Bowling Green KY
March 24th, 2012Spring has sprung here in Bowling Green and I am thoroughly enjoying it. I’ve been waiting for my plum tree to flower and it finally obliged this week. I love the delicate flowers it produces. The touch of pink near the center just really draws me in. These tiny flowers don’t stay long, so I have to capture them as soon as I see them no matter what. Enjoy!

March 16th, 2012Though spring is still a few days away on the calendar, it’s really already here in Bowling Green given the very mild winter we had. I’m certainly enjoying seeing everything begin to bloom and I’m hoping to take a walk around Fountain Square this weekend to take in all the beautiful scenery. In the meantime, I wanted to share a Dogwood bloom from the tree in my own yard. It’s not quite open yet and I think I love it more for just for that.
